Sanoma Corporation, Investor News, 5 December 2013 at 16:30 CET+1
Sanoma is strongly committed to its shareholding in Dutch SBS Broadcasting, in which it holds a majority stake of 67%. Sanoma has no intention to sell its stake in SBS.
The television channels SBS 6, Net 5 and Veronica as well as the video-on-demand platform Kijk.nl are important building blocks of Sanoma’s strategy to increase synergies from its print, online and television activities.
Since Sanoma acquired the stake in SBS Broadcasting in 2011 more investments in programming have been made than ever before. It is clear however that serious improvements at SBS are necessary to improve the performance.
The SBS supervisory board, with a strong Sanoma representation, is in close contact with the SBS management board to ensure that the company is run in the best interests of the company and all stakeholders and that appropriate steps are taken.
