Sanoma Pro Oy and TutorHouse Oy have signed a co-operation agreement to further promote learning among Finnish children and young people and make everyday life easier for families with children.
TutorHouse offers customised teaching and tutoring services to meet the needs of children and young people in Finnish primary, secondary and upper secondary schools. Sanoma Pro offers educational content and learning solutions for schools.

This can be related to individual learning needs and support for learning at school, for example. TutorHouse provides solutions that meet these needs, such as the KotiOpe tutoring service and virtual teaching services for children of expatriate families. Digital educational content provided by Sanoma Pro is a perfect addition to our service concepts, making our teachers’ work easier and inspiring students through gaming and other elements,” says Pekka Impiö, Managing Director, TutorHouse.
“For Sanoma, tutoring is an interesting growth area. Instead of competing with schools, tutoring supports learning at school. The tutoring business has major operators in Central Europe. We want to participate in developing TutorHouse into the leading provider of tutoring services in Finland,” says Salla Vainio, Managing Director, Sanoma Pro.
Sanoma Ventures, a venture capital company investing in promising growth companies, has participated in the project. In accordance with the co-operation agreement, Sanoma Pro will become the majority owner of TutorHouse at the beginning of 2016. The present owners of TutorHouse will remain in the company as minority owners. TutorHouse will continue to operate independently under its own brand. The managing director of TutorHouse Oy is Pekka Impiö, M.A., MBA.
