Finland’s leading magazine publisher, Sanoma Magazines, is to reorganise its operations as of 1 November. The new structure will support the company in its efforts to become more target audience-driven, as well as secure the continued success of Sanoma Magazines’ print publications in a rapidly changing marketplace and make it easier to develop new multichannel activities.Sanoma Magazines’ new organisation will be based on strong centres of excellence, extensive internal collaboration, and efficient processes. The organisation will comprise two units responsible for business, content, and brands in their specific areas: Magazine Media & Content Marketing; and Kids´ Media & Digital Business. These will be supported by sales and support units serving the entire Sanoma Magazines organisation, including Consumer Customers, Corporate Customers & Sales, Digital Publications, and a Design Centre.“The new structure is our response to the challenges posed by the rapid changes affecting media consumption patterns and our overall operating environment,” says Clarisse Berggårdh, Sanoma Magazines Finland’s Managing Director. “Our goal is to secure the on-going success of our print titles and begin a determined initiative to develop Sanoma Magazines into a true multichannel media company.“As part of this, we will be offering our consumer and corporate customers a range of new services, solutions, and products. We will focus on providing comprehensive service for our core customers and offering commercial content services for outside partners on a completely new scale compared to today. Distinctive, quality content will continue to be a Sanoma Magazines strength, together with cutting-edge visuals and a portfolio of compelling brands. We will also deepen our cooperation with other parts of the Sanoma Group as we go forward.”Examples of the new ways of working the reorganisation will bring include joint editorial teams for Sanoma Magazines’ technology and car magazines and family titles.
