Finland's leading magazine publisher, Sanoma Magazines Finland, is to be one of the main corporate partners of World Design Capital Helsinki 2012. The partnership will open up a direct link to 3 million Finns for the world's design capital.
Embedding design in life is the main theme of World Design Capital Helsinki 2012.
"Magazines are synonymous with user-driven design at every stage of their production," says Sanoma Magazines Finland's CEO, Clarisse Berggårdh. "Individual and community creativity and passion combine in a very unique way in the making of a magazine and the highly efficient processes and continually evolving concepts that go into them. Design – all the way from the creations of leading designers to helpful hints to help people get more out of their everyday lives – forms a central part of what makes magazines what they are. An excellent example of what I mean here are our home and living titles, such as Glorian Koti."
As one of the project's main partners, Sanoma Magazines Finland will give World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 access to the pages of over 40 magazines and the eyes of over 3 million Finns.
"As a major national publisher, we value the fact that World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 wants to profile itself across the country, not just in and around Helsinki itself. Working with us will open up some exciting and dynamic ways of communicating WDC Helsinki 2012's theme, goals, and programme to our readers," continues Berggårdh.
