Pekka Soini, 53, has been appointed President of Sanoma News Ltd, head of the Sanoma News division and member of Sanoma's Executive Management Group as of 24 September 2010.
Pekka Soini has served as Sanoma News' acting President and head of the Division since 1 April 2010, at which time he also became a member of Sanoma's Executive Management Group. Soini has worked for the daily newspaper Helsingin Sanomat since 1980 in different positions, last as President of Helsingin Sanomat business unit.
Sanoma News is the leading newspaper publisher in Finland. In addition to Helsingin Sanomat, the largest daily in the Nordic countries, Sanoma News publishes Ilta-Sanomat, the largest tabloid in Finland and regional newspapers.
