The first issue of the new weekly supplement of the Metro city news sheet, Metro Live, will be published on Friday, 7 September. While the main news sheet provides comprehensive coverage of the most important news every weekday, Metro Live focuses on the weekend. It is not only a guide to how to spend the weekend, but also a survey of the most interesting people and events. The news sheet's content is simultaneously informative, entertaining and challenging.

"Metro Live's concept is totally new. It is the only city news sheet in Finland that is distributed free to hundreds of thousands of people and focuses on weekend activities. It's an incredible opportunity in terms of content," says Santtu Parkkonen, the manager in charge of the content of Metro Live.

Metro Live has a layout design of its own, which can easily be recognised as belonging to the Metro product family. The supplement will have 16–24 pages.

Metro Live will be distributed each Friday, inserted within the main Metro news sheet. In addition to public transport vehicles, it will also be available from newspaper racks, cafés, bars and restaurants. With the start of the publication of Live, Metro's distribution points will increase by about 130.

Metro Live is the successor to the city news sheet V published by Sanoma Kaupunkilehdet Oy. The last issue of the V free sheet was published at the end of May. Metro Live's Internet service will start on 5 October at the address www.metrolive.fi. At the same time, the users of V's Internet service will be directed to the new service.

Metro and Metro Live are published by Sanoma Kaupunkilehdet Oy. Sanoma Kaupunkilehdet is the free sheet business unit of Sanoma, the newspaper division of the SanomaWSOY Group.
