IS Sports News will begin in TV channel Nelonen
The sports news of Ilta-Sanomat and TV channel Nelonen are joining forces to form IS Urheilu-uutiset (Sports News) and will start broadcasts towards the end of February.
Consolidation of Ilta-Sanomat's sports news reporting and the resources of Nelonen will add a strong new player in the electronic media, because Ilta-Sanomat's sports scoops and current topics for the morning edition will now be seen and heard on TV already the night before.
Finland's leading sports news team together with Nelonen's sports reporters will be responsible for the content of IS Sports News. Nelonen?s anchors will host the broadcasts from the channel's news studio in their familiar enthusiastic way.
The broadcasting time of IS Sports News will be retained in its well-known place in the program after the late night news on weekdays and will also be included in the block of eight o'clock evening news on weekends. The program will get 50% more time on the air compared with the time currently allocated to sports.
The premiere of IS Sports News will be on Sunday February 29 broadcast directly from the Media Square of Sanoma House.
