Sanoma Magazines Zagreb, Sanoma Magazines’ consumer magazine publisher in Croatia, launches the Croatian edition of the leading women’s fashion magazine Elle on 18th of October 2002 after having signed a licence agreement with Hachette Filipacchi Presse S.A. earlier this year. The French publishing group published the first issue of this famous women‘s magazine in Paris immediately after World War II in 1945. Nowadays Elle has 20 million readers all over the world.
The Croatian version is the 35th edition of Elle worldwide, and the first edition among the ex-Yugoslavia’s countries, after Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Ukraine and Russia.
As a leading women’s magazine, Elle has created its worldwide reputation as a prestigious fashion and style trendsetter thanks to its unique concept of “awakening appetite”. Although international editions differ, they are linked by a common philosophy and an inspiring and frank treatment of women’s issues, emphasizing a creative approach to fashion and lifestyle. This strong and clearly profiled concept has made Elle a distinctive brand that incorporates joie de vivre, femininity and passion for fashion, but also spiritual and cultural openness, an enquiring mind and social involvement. As a result of the enormous interest advertisers take in the Croatian Elle, its first issue counts no less than 252 pages.
Also publishing the monthly magazine Kl!k and the weekly star magazine Story, Sanoma Magazines Zagreb is part of Sanoma Magazines International. Sanoma Magazines International belongs to SanomaWSOY Group’s magazine publishing division Sanoma Magazines b.v.
