Television and Radio
With more than 20 channels in Europe Sanoma is building its position as a leading TV company that understands there's much more to TV than linear viewing. We combine strong free-to-air TV channels with innovative video-on-demand, second screen applications and other novel digital formats in order to create maximum buzz around our popular program formats. Increasingly, we are building multi-channel and multimedia offerings that combine media assets in order to really make a difference in serving the consumers’ and advertisers' needs.
Online media have gained incredible importance as a crucial way for people to communicate, opening up opportunities to improve and ease lives. With some of our online services, Sanoma has been there from the early days of dial-up online connections. Nowadays we focus strongly on using our customer insight to build existing digital media further and develop completely new services.
Newspapers are our core business from the start. In Finland we publish Helsingin Sanomat, the leading daily newspaper in Scandinavia, Ilta-Sanomat, the the market leader in mobile services and online news and free sheet Metro.
Online business portal Taloussanomat started as a printed newspaper but is now Finland's leading business news resource.
